doris lives with her younger brother, dan, in a world that's now replete with monsters and ruled by high-strung vampires. while dealing with some creatures one night, doris gets bitten by count lee who later decides that he wants to complete the courtship by marrying her. lee's daughter, ramika, is horrified by the thought of having a mere human step-mother and decides that she will kill dorris before the wedding can take place. hoping to keep her secret safe, dorris enlists the aid of a vampire hunter by the name of d. however, greg, the mayor's son reveals doris' predicament to the whole town when she refuses to marry him, causing her to be exiled to her ranch until d is able to kill lee. but when doris and dan are kidnapped, d will have to rely on his second nature to rescue doris and dan by destroying the count.

doris. dan's older sister and caretaker of the ranch they live on. after being "kissed" by count lee, she enlists d's services, offering him food, shelther, and even herself [though he never takes advantage of the last offer, that d, what a guy ... ] as payment.
luke. doris' horse that helps her chase off mutants that ravaged her ranch. he dies the night count lee appears after chasing a mutant.
dan. doris' younger brother who helps her protect the ranch from invading mutants and such. he instantly becomes attached to d and idolizes him. he stays strong and tries to cheer doris up because d tells him it's the right thing to do.
d. the vampire hunter who agrees to help doris by killing count lee.though he doesn't speak much, dan idolizes him. being a dampire [half human, half vampire], d possesses amazing abilities, but it's this nature that keeps him away from society so that he doesn't harm others.
d's left hand. i like to think of d's hand as his sidekick that reminds him that his second nature won't ever allow him to enjoy the warmth of a human being [namely doris] and that he must keep focused on his "blood-stained destiny." he aids him in his endeavors with
greg. the mayor's jerk-off son who would do anything to get doris to marry him, including blackmailing her when he finds out that the rumor of her "kiss" with the count is true.
dr. peringo. the village physician and a close friend of doris and dan. when the villagers begin to despise and shun doris because she's been bitten, he's the only one who really stands up for her. however, he becomes a victim of the count's influence later on.
count lee. the ancient vampire who "kisses" doris. he's determined to marry doris, despite the objections of his daughter.
ramika. the daughter of count lee. she's pretty high-strung and is determined to keep the bloodline of her family pure by preventing the marriage between her father and doris.
reiginsei. henchman of the count lee who appears with ramika to kill doris so she can't marry the count. he has special warping abilities that allows attacks made on him to mirror on to his opponent [i.e. if he's stabbed with a kinfe, the knife goes into his attacker, not him].
lamia sisters. they appear as harmless, harp playing women at first, but they soon reveal their true forms as giant snake-like creatures with human heads.
gimletto. the mutant bat creature that kidnaps dan while d is forging his way through count magnus lee's castle. he's later killed accidentally by reiginsei who mistook him for d.
